Count me among the legions of Armistead Maupin geeks waiting breathlessly for the arrival of Michael Tolliver Lives, next Tuesday! Woo hoo! Apparently Armistead denies that this is the next installment in the Tales of the City series, but all the reviews are saying that is basically what it is. Michael is alive and well, a survivor of HIV and shacked up with a new boyfriend 20 years younger. Get it, Mouse! Mrs. Madrigal -- my hero/heroine! -- comes around, and Brian Hawkins too. Can't wait to see if there are updates on Mary Ann, the twins, Mona, etc.

Just this week, the bf and I were channel-surfing and came across Tales on the Logo Channel. The writing is still so funny and thought-provoking. Nobody fleshes out characters better than Armistead, and thankfully, his impeccable style really comes across in the tv series. I so wish they'd gone on filming after Further Tales.
